The submission of the presidential nomination forms by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has been lauded as a leap to his presidential ambition, with supporters and loyalists jubilation over the development.

The leadership of the Progressive Project (TPP), a support group promoting the presidential aspiration of Prof Osinbajo, a presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wednesday night, submitted his expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest the 2023 presidential election.

The group has expressed hopes, with the increase in the momentum over the call for Osinbajo’s 2023 presidency, that the Vice President will emerge as the APC presidential candidate in the party’s primaries fixed for May 30 and 31, 2022.

The submission took place at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abuja, at about 9:00 p.m.

The chairman of TPP, Senator Kabiru Gaya, and Senator Muhammadu Bulkachuwa led the group that submitted the forms to the APC National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Saluiman Arugungu, in a brief ceremony at the party secretariat.

The submission was followed with jubilation by the members who had purchased the nomination forms for the Vice President last Wednesday, exactly a week ago, at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja.

Recalled Laolu Akande, who is the spokesperson to Vice President Osinbajo, had, in a tweet, described the group, TPP, as “a passionate team of support groups and individual Nigerians from across the country,” who he said had “raised funds to support the purchase of the APC nomination forms for the Vice President’s 2023 presidential bid.”
